Built To Move
When under load, your engine rocks from side-to-side. The Ram-Air system features unique bellows that are positioned to allow engine movement.
The XLPE intake tube slides under and through these bellows to provide turbulence-free high-velocity airflow while maintaining a smooth bend into the turbo inlet.
This reduces pressure loss in the intake and improves air density within the sealed box, maximizing power and throttle response.

Air is forced to take a difficult path through a restrictive filter while the OEM intake tube bellows induce turbulence and reduce mass airflow.

aFe's intake tube necks down sharply right after the filter and has a portion of the intake tube plastic that goes across the back side of the filter.
This induces turbulence to the air stream and a sharp bend before the turbo adds further restriction.
S&B
S&B's simple straight tube leaves performance potential on the table.
With a narrow filter outlet and a sharp bend before the turbo inlet, reducing flow and performance.
Quality product. Didn’t need the instructions. It’s pretty straight forward. The turbo is definitely louder, and the throttle is more responsive.

Great product
I really don’t do reviews too often, but I’m very impressed with this intake. The installation was a breeze. Start to finish 45 mins with a wife and two kids not coming to interrupt once. The power stroke stock was already borderline too quick for a 3/4-1 ton pickup. But after this the power is relentless....
I installed the Banks Air Ram in my 2022 Ford F 600 6.7L RV motor home. The main reason that I installed this was to get better fuel economy. So far I've done 400 miles. My calculations show I'm getting a 6% increase in fuel economy. My motorhome weighs 23,300 lbs and I'm pulling a 4,300 lb Jeep...
Very happy with this intake. Top quality materials and hardware included. Produced a noticeable deeper tone at idle and while using engine braking. Haven’t had long enough to notice fuel mileage increase yet. Purchased separate pre-filter and I’m happy I did after seeing how dirty the factory pre filter...
Installation instructions were well written and easy to follow. I had the Max Air Ram installed in no time. On first start up I immediately noticed a change in the engine tone. I also noticed an increased throttle response as well. I am very happy with my purchase from Banks.
